LAN Parents Terms of Service

Welcome to LAN Parents! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the LAN Parents mobile application ("LAN Parents," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use LAN Parents.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using LAN Parents, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. These Terms form a binding agreement between you and LAN Parents.

2. Eligibility

You must be 18 years of age or older to use LAN Parents. By using the app, you represent that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate and complete. LAN Parents is intended for gaming parents and is not directed to children.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.
You may delete your account at any time in Profile → Settings → Delete Account. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, posts, messages, listings, and hosted parties.

4. Community Guidelines & Acceptable Use

LAN Parents is a community built for gaming parents to connect, coordinate events, trade gear, and communicate respectfully. By using the app, you agree to treat other members with respect and to follow these guidelines at all times.

5. Zero-Tolerance Policy for Objectionable Content and Abusive Behavior

LAN Parents has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. Content or conduct that violates these Terms may be removed, and the responsible user may be suspended or permanently banned, without notice.

The following are strictly prohibited:

Harassment, bullying, threats, hate speech, or discrimination of any kind
Sexually explicit, obscene, or pornographic content
Content that exploits, endangers, or sexualizes minors
Violent, graphic, or gratuitously disturbing content
Spam, scams, phishing, or fraudulent activity
Impersonation of another person or misrepresentation of your identity
Illegal content or content promoting illegal activity
Sharing other people's private information without consent
Malware, viruses, or attempts to disrupt or compromise the app

We reserve the right, but are not obligated, to review, monitor, and remove any content at our sole discretion.

6. Reporting and Blocking

LAN Parents provides built-in tools to keep the community safe:

Report: You can report any user or content you believe violates these Terms directly from their profile.
Block: You can block any user at any time. Blocking hides that user's posts, messages, and profile from you, and hides yours from them. You can manage and remove blocks in Profile → Settings → Blocked Users.

We are committed to reviewing reports of objectionable content and abusive behavior and acting on them within 24 hours. Where a report is upheld, we will remove the offending content and may eject the user responsible by suspending or terminating their account.

7. User-Generated Content

You retain ownership of the content you create and post on LAN Parents (your posts, messages, reviews, listings, and profile information). By posting content, you grant LAN Parents a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute that content solely for the purpose of operating and providing the app.

You are solely responsible for the content you post and represent that you have the right to post it. We do not claim ownership of your content and will not use it for purposes outside operating the app.

8. Marketplace and Gear Trading

LAN Parents allows members to list and discuss gaming gear. Please note:

LAN Parents is a venue for connecting buyers and sellers. We are not a party to any transaction between users.
We do not process payments, ship items, verify listings, or guarantee the condition, legality, or authenticity of any item.
All transactions are arranged directly between users, at their own risk. We strongly encourage caution, meeting in safe public locations, and using secure payment methods.
LAN Parents is not responsible for any loss, dispute, or damage arising from marketplace transactions.

9. Events and LAN Parties

Members may create, host, and RSVP to events and LAN parties. LAN Parents does not organize, supervise, endorse, or take responsibility for any in-person or online gathering arranged through the app. Attending any event is at your own risk, and you are responsible for your own safety and conduct.

10. Enforcement and Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account, remove content, or restrict your access to LAN Parents at any time if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct we determine to be harmful to the community or the app. You may stop using LAN Parents and delete your account at any time.

11. Disclaimers

LAN Parents is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any content posted by users is accurate or reliable.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, LAN Parents and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the app, including any interactions or transactions between users.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless LAN Parents and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising out of your use of the app, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email. Continued use of LAN Parents after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California and the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts located in California.
